Oh, Amy Adams is clearly a genius.
Enchanted proves it people, the woman is a star.
So, April has rolled around once more.
The weather is getting warm, the sun is out longer.
Summer is on the wind, and I cannot wait.
Summer is what I am longing for.
The bright sunshine of a clear blue day
The wind in my hair as the car windows are open, [Someone else is driving. Obviously.]
The radio on blast
And a day at the beach with the friends
Or a night of random adventures.
I love summertime.
It's full of fantasy and fun.
And of course the many trips to NY and all the shows.
Oh summer, how I need you.
Life is good and or okay.
Spring Awakening Open Call in 6 days and counting..
And I am pretty psyched.
I'm running through my song over and over and hoping to score a coveted callback
But honestly, I'm in it for the fun and the experience.
You can't ever not try, if you don't try, how will you know.
You won't. Life is too short to not try.
Even if I got typed out, I'd be like "Hey, thats cool. Had fun. PEACEEE."
Life is too short to dewell on the harsh realities of life.
Have fun and let the sunshine. :]
Also: John and Justin will be there, so it's gonna be a Kingsway family affair.
John wants us to take over SA and be craaamazing.
Everyone keeps telling me how good of an Otto I would be.
And from their mouths to God's ears.
But like I said, if I just go and have fun, it won't matter either way.
Have fun and let the sunshine.
Work sucks, but thats work.
Overall, life is pretty good. :]
School sucks except for Theater and Psych.
Buttt, I love them, so I go to them.
I hate my Math class, so I am gonna take it over and just finish the year out in my own way.
And English, well. I keep going because it's okay. And the people are cool.
Ashanta and I just enjoy roving the world of GCC during the day.
CC Cafe to Library to IC Computer lab, etc.
Ashanta rocks my socks.
She's amazing.
She keeps me laughing all day at this horrid hell hole.
Shana and I have been having all kinds of random adventures as usual.
I love my friends. They make life cool.
So, I let myself fall hard once more.
I meet someone and they are amazing, but of course, they have someone.
And I let myself get wrapped up into it and lose myself until reality hits.
I am just too hopelessly romantic for my own good.
I want to find love, and hopefully everyone is right, and I will find that one.
-Sigh- Hey Prince Charming or Prince Edward, I'm waiting. :]
So, I leave you with some Enchanted love. :]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sam: [referring to Giselle] She has no driver's license, no passports, and no records and I've called every travel agency and none of them have ever heard of this place: "Andalusia".
Robert: Andalasia.
Sam: Whatever. I don't know if that's even a country, a city...
Robert: It doesn't even sound like a state.
Sam: Or a state of mind.
Robert: Did she tell you where it was located?
Sam: She said it was located "past the Meadow of Joy and
[mocking Giselle]
Sam: beyond the Valley of Contentment".
[tries to stop Nancy from leaving]
Robert: What... what about the grown-up girl bonding time with you and Morgan? About you bringing her to school.
Nancy Tremaine: So that you can have your own grown-up girl bonding time? I don't think so!
Prince Edward: [threatening Robert with his sword] Have you any last words before I dispatch you?
Robert: You have got to be kidding me!
Prince Edward: Strange words!
Giselle: [singing] Well, does he take you out dancing / Just so he can hold you close?
Robert: [speaking] I don't dance!
Giselle: Dedicate a song / With words meant just for you? / Ooh ooh
Robert: [speaking] And I really don't sing.
Morgan Philip: Remember not to put too much makeup or the boys may get the wrong idea. They are only after one thing.
Giselle: What's that?
Morgan Philip: I don't know. They won't tell me.

"It's the bitch, just the bitch, yeah. Just the bitch of living as someone you can't stand."
Oh such profound words from Duncan Shriek and his crazed German teens.
Yes, Spring Awakening is now my life.
Well, part of my life I should say.
Saw it way back in Feburary.
Love love love it.
Also love love love Little Mermaid.
Two TOTALLY different shows, but loved them both.
Spring Awakening made me cry and touched me in such a profound way
Little Mermaid despite it's flaws reawakened my love of the music and the movie.
So, Rob has been a busy little bee since my last entry.
School/Work/Life.
Just sooo much and sooo little time.
And Rob is very tired.
School ends in less than a month
And I couldn't be happier.
I have alot of work to do, but once it's done, I'll feel better.
Summer.
Beach! Trips to NY! Work.[no exclamation] Lifeee!
Just so many days of fun to come.
Oh god, after this horrid first semester.
I need it. :sigh:
So.
Just praying for school to be finished and do well.
And truly exicited for the summertime. :]
Kind of short blog.
But, eh.
Exicitment is to come. :]
SUMMMMERRRR.

"I don't know how. I don't know when. But I know something's starting right now. Someday, I'll be part of your world."
Welcome to out.
The world on the other side of the closet.
Yes, one and all, The closet has been compromised.
Due to alot of drama dealing with sister sneaking on my AIM, I decided to break the emotional closet and come out.
Welcome to out of the closet.
With the support of MOST of BroadwayWorld.com
I made the leap and told my mom and aunt.
My father will either never know or will find out in duetime
Along with my brother.
NY is lovely today.
I have yet to leave, but eager.
I'm awaiting Shana right now.
And next week I shall go under the sea and see The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid and I go way back to my childhood
I was once obessed with Mermaids as legend and fiction: I use to have mermaid books out from the library, watch every incaration of Hans Christian Anderson's original story of The Little Mermaid. Yes, I was obessed.
Plus the movie came out when I was one and I saw it and fell in love with at five.
The first song I ever sang for my family was Part of Your World.
So, The Little Mermaid holds a big piece of my heart alongside Beauty and The Beast.
To see it onstage will be one amazing experience [despite reviews being less than glowing]
But I cannot wait.
Ariel as a character always dreaming of more has always been my favorite Disney princess.
She always will be my favorite with Belle being a close second and Auroa from Sleeping Beauty being third. :D
So yeah, just a meer update on my life:
College is good.
Hard, but good.
Knew that going in, it would be alot.
Stressful due to working and going to school, but I'm trying to manage
Met some amazing people, cannot wait to experience all they bring to the table.
So yeah.
So, I want summer here so I can hit the beach and chillax in the summer sun
And just enjoy the warmth.
Oh well.
Only three more months of winter! :D
It's much warmer out here than in that darn closet! :D
------------------------------------
Look at this stuff
Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has ev'rything?
Look at this trove
Treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Lookin' around here you'd think
(Sure) she's got everything
I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
(You want thingamabobs?
I got twenty)
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more
I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em dancin'
Walkin' around on those
(Whad'ya call 'em?) oh - feet
Flippin' your fins you don't get too far
Legs are required for jumpin', dancin'
Strollin' along down a
(What's that word again?) street
Up where they walk
Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free
Wish I could be
Part of that world
What would I give
If I could live
Outta these waters?
What would I pay
To spend a day
Warm on the sand?
Betcha on land
They understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
Bright young women
Sick o' swimmin'
Ready to stand
And ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions
And get some answers
What's a fire and why does it
(What's the word?) burn?
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore that shore above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

"Well first things first, my name is Rose. I can bust fly rhymes just like the pros. Forget Rocking Chairs I rock Microphones."
So, 2008 has arrived. A long over due Happy New Year.
Man, 2008 has been a pretty decent year thus far:
School is in full swing: Week dos. Pretty awesome here, actually.
Surprising that GCC could be okay, but it is. Theater rocks.
The theater class is full of musical dorks: I've made three awesome friends in there.
And the other classes are good too, I've met a few cool people and seen some familar faces.
So, yeah education is on track to be great.
Work is still work, which is so ridiclious, still hating every moment I spent in the LTA.
It's like hell on earth, they treat me like crap and yet I stay because I fear branching out and attempting to find a new job, so yeah.
I went to NY with Jazzy and Jon to originally see Maury, which turned into a disaster.
They put Jazzy and Jon onstage, and stuck me with this odd woman who looked like a mix of Ugly Betty and this girl I did shows in Kingsway with named Emmy, and she was so annoying, I had to get the heck out there: She made me take her picture out of nowhere. I was just sitting minding my own business when she shoved a camera phone in my face. I was literally like "WTF.."
So, I skipped out and RAN for the Neil Simon Theater and got a mezz seat for the matinee of the happy-juggernaut: HAIRSPRAY! &hearts. Oh how musical theater can make life so much better. :D
The show was wonderful, as usual. I'll repost my review down below for more:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I love Hairspray, it's seriously one of my all time favorite musicals. It has a herorine, I can relate to and the music is amazing and the perfomances are so full of engery and the dancing is wonderful. I've seen it three times prior and I went yesterday for my fourth and I'm hooked once more: More viewings are to come, I can promise you that!
Understudies were Kasey Marino as Corny Collins [Clarke Thorell, the original Corny returns on Friday]
Gretchen Breiber was on as Prudy/Matron/GymTeacher
And Lauren Kling had joined the cast to temporarily replace Tammy due to the spot left by Hayley Podschun.
The show is so positive and happy, and just full of energy and joy: Tracy's journey from Good Morning Balitmore to exploding through the doors of the Baltimore Eventorium to upset the Miss Hairspray paganet is just one of the most wonderful transformations in theater. She goes from trying to make a difference, to making it.
Shannon Durig is an amazing Tracy: Her voice is pitch-perfect and her acting is incredible, she truly embodies all that Tracy should be. Having seen her once before, she is wonderful and just makes the role a pleasure to watch.
Geogre Wednt was an interesting Edna, he had the comedy and his voice was good, but he seemed long winded and seemed very small in such a big role. Sure, he had the chops, but the longwindeness distracted from the performance. As compared to my favorites: Blake Hammond, Bruce Vilach and Paul G. Voigt, he lacked.
Niki Scalera was a great Penny, her voice is amazing and her acting is fun, but she lacks what Diana Degarmo did in the nerdy department. I did enjoy her chemistry with Tevin, it really worked. Overall, a fantastic performance. [PS: I saw her as Jane in Tarzan, she was wonderful]
Kasey Marino is officially my favorite Corny, he was charming and cheesy and his voice was amazing. He is also younger than most of the Cornys I had seen, [he usually plays Brad.] So, it was refreshing to see a younger Corny, but it worked very well. Best deliever of "You can't fire Corny Collins from the Corny Collins show." ever.
Ashley Parker Angel has gotten much better since I first saw him, he was better the second time I saw him, but he was much much much better this time: His singing has improved and he's gotten more into character, despite a few flubbed lines, he was good.
Tevin Cambell was wonderful as always as Seaweed, he has been with the show for sometime now and he is just so wonderful to listen to and embodies the character so well. He and Niki had great chemistry as well.
Naturi makes a cute Inez and her voice is so great, I wish she could show it off more. Darlene Love is just a powerhouse, she knocks "I Know Where I've Been.." out of the park everytime. She's just brillant. How the roof of the Neil Simon is still holding I have no idea.
Gretchen was a funny Prudy/Matron/Gym Teacher: You can pretty much NEVER be too big for that role, no limit to the random things that can be said--> Like during the dodgeball scene, she said when holding the dodgeball bag infront of her "Yeah, I have balls." It was HILARIOUS.
I love the Council Kids, they never get any love, but the actors who play the Council Kids are so great at what they do and get very little praise for their roles. I love Lori Eve who plays Shelley and the swing who covered Brad and the swing who covered IQ and the rest. They are just wonderful.
Ashley Spencer was the 2nd best Amber I have seen, close behind Brynn O' Malley, who was terrific. Despite being sick, which I honestly couldn't tell, she was simply wonderful, she was so kooky and ditzy and fun to watch. And her delievery of Amber's lines was far better than Jordan Ballard [I disliked her VERY much] and her singing was better than Haylie Duff [She was good.] Michelle Pawk was a decent Velma, she got better as the show went on. Her Miss Baltimore Crabs was good, but not amazing. But, her acting was fantastic.
Tom Rooney was my favorite Wilbur behind Scott Davidson, who is the U/S for Wilbur: His singing was great and his acting was wonderful as well. By far better than Jere Burns. I really liked Tom and Geogre's chemistry.
The stage door was a ZOO: because of Ashley Parker Angel: A school group invaded: I got a picture with Niki, Ashley Parker Angel, Shannon, Tevin, Darlene, Kasey and the swing for either IQ or Brad, I am still not sure. Geogre doesn't come out and Ashley S was very sick so she skipped stage door. And Tom walked passed without a sound, however I did want to meet him, but it was too late.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, yes, life is pretty good.
My parents are nuts, they are planning on moving.. SOMEWHERE.
If they move out of NJ or Logan, I'm moving in with my grandpa, because I refuse to mess up all that I'm currently invovled with.
Currently listening to a musical flashback: The Wedding Singer!
Yeah, crazzzy how I havent listened to it in forever, but I still really love it.
:jams to POP: :D
2008: Looking brighter every day. :D
Lyrical Love:
(Spoken)
JULIA
Did you see the bride?
She looks so perfect.
HOLLY
I know. Don’t you hate her?
JULIA
Hate her?
She’s so happy!
(Sung)
She turns around
And she meets his gaze
The lights are dim,
There’s a smoky haze
They share a smile
And a secret wave
It’s a moment built to save
They start to move
Across the floor
The room is frozen,
Wanting more
The happy couple on display
With nothing standing
In their way
It’s so romantic I could die
Right here and now
It’s gonna be that way for us
I know somehow
Someday when it’s me
I’ll know our love
Was meant to be
Not one single complication
Or cause for hesitation
Someday when the dream
Is coming true
All you’ll need is me
And all I’ll need is you
(Spoken)
HOLLY
Julia, take that veil off!
JULIA
Okay!
(Sung)
They stop and pose
For a photograph
He jokes aorund
Just to make her laugh
The room is full,
But they’re all alone
They have a language
All their own
And I’m so jealous I could cry
And yet I know
It won’t be long
Before you say
We’re good to go
Someday when it’s me
I’ll know our love
Was meant to be
Not one single complication
Or cause for hesitation
Someday when the dream
Is coming true
All you’ll need is me
And all I’ll need is you
I know not every marriage
Lasts when things go bad
I’ve seen the warning signs
I call them “Mom” and “Dad”
But soon you’ll take my hand
And pledge your love to me
Till then I’ll just get married vicariously
